Tell us something unique about you or your family.

My family has a special love for ice cream. Since we were very hyper when we were little, my mom never let us have sugar. Now we always have a craving for it and we eat it whenever we can!

What is your favorite class?

Communications is my favorite class!  I believe writing is a very important and powerful means of communication. Through writing, ideas can touch people and move them to make decisions. That is why we need good writers today! I have also learned a lot about public speaking, especially having confidence in myself and my message. I am grateful for the help of my teacher, Mrs. LaPlante, who has taught me so much.

What book are you reading right now and why?

I am reading the book Father Elijah by Michael O’Brian. Many people recommended the book to me, so I decided to pick it up this summer. I’m really enjoying it. It is a real page turner!

What is one of the things you love about MEC?

There are so many things that I love about MEC! I love all the friends I have made; they are true friends and even sisters to me. I know that they want what is best for me and that I can always count on them to be there for me. This is something that is hard to find and I value their friendship a lot. Another thing I love about MEC is that I have really met Jesus here. I now have a personal relationship with him and he is my greatest friend.

Can you share a quote that you like?

“…If we let Christ into our lives, we lose nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing of what makes life free, beautiful and great. No! Only in this friendship are the doors of life opened wide. Only in this friendship is the great potential of human existence truly revealed. Only in this friendship do we experience beauty and liberation.” –Pope John Paul II

What is your favorite song from an MEC CD?

I love the song “You raise me up.” The words “You raise me up to more than I can be…” mean a lot to be because that is how I feel with God. He lifts me up to more than I could ever be on my own. By calling me to the Consecrated life, I feel he has given me a new life and he will do things through me I never could have achieved on my own.

What does “integral formation” mean to you?

The first words that come to my mind are the words “all around”.  I believe that at MEC I am learning to do my best in the classroom, on the basketball courts, and when I am praying. The formation helps me to form my heart, my mind, and my will so that I can be the person that God has created me to be and so that I can use the gifts he has given me to help others to find him.
